Yes the Northern Chapter has once again won the "Best Chapter for the Year" award and Ar. Shamit Manchanda has been awarded the "Outstanding Member of the Year Award". The Awards will be presented at the National Convention at Bhopal in December 2005

The Indian Institute of Architects (IIA) is the national body of Architects in the country. Having started in the year 1917, the institute today has more than 12000 members. The Institute has a major role to play in promoting the profession of architecture by organising and uniting in fellowship the Architects of India to promote aesthetic, scientific and practical efficiency of the profession both in Practice and in Education. IIA is represented on various national and international committees connected with architecture, art and the building industry and is also actively associated with International Union of Architects (UIA) Commonwealth Association of Architects (CAA) and South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation of Architects (SAARCH).
The Northern Chapter of the Institute was started in 1956.

Followed by the GBM a Panel Discussion on the recent notice regarding use of Premises for Professional activities This will be followed by a presentation on ArchiCAD by adroitec. Followed by fellowship dinner

NATCON – 2007 at Cochin IIA at the last Council Meeting on 20th April, 2007 held at Kolkata has accepted your proposal of Kerala Chapter of IIA to host the IIA NATCON 2007 through its Cochin Centre at Cochin from December, 26th to 28th at the Venue “Hotel Gokulam” at Cochin and the theme of the Convention as “CONSCIOUS URBANISM.”. Convention Convenor shall be Ar. Lalichan Zacarias and Co-convenor Ar. Roy John of Cochin Centre. For further detail in the matter you may contact the Jt. Hon.
